An Occupational Therapist working in schools plays a crucial role in supporting students' academic success and overall well-being. They assess and address the unique needs of students, focusing on enhancing their ability to participate in school activities, such as learning, socializing, and self-care. They collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop customized intervention plans that promote students' independence and skill development. Through activities, adaptations, and interventions, they help students overcome barriers to learning and fully engage in their educational environment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy

Two to three years’ experience including conducting/collaborating with parents and school and District staff; and providing indirect therapy.

Eligible for membership in the College of Occupational Therapists of B.C.

Possess a valid B.C. Driver’s License

Access to a reliable vehicle / means of transportation.

Strong interpersonal and consultation skills

Clear, accurate communication via written reports

Scanned copy of your valid BC Driver’s license

Clear driver’s abstract/history (can be obtained from ICBC)

PLEASE NOTE

The starting annual salary for this School Teacher position ranges from $50,000 to $104,000, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.

In accordance with the Criminal Record Review Act, successful applicants will be required to consent to a Criminal Record Check prior to employment.
