Fiddlehead Farm is an organic vegetable farm looking for a part-time wash station assistant to join their team. Shifts are 8 am to 5 pm on Mondays and Tuesdays during the harvest. Primary tasks will involve washing and packing up produce as it comes in from the fields and then filling custom orders. Applicants should be able to work quickly while maintaining quality and safety. They must be comfortable working on the ground, bending, and heavy lifting. It is a physically demanding job involving repetitive tasks in all weather conditions. Candidates must demonstrate self-motivation with the ability to set pace when working independently, as well as strong teamwork and communication skills with good judgment. Any relevant experience is an asset. Spanish language skills would be helpful but not required.

Shifts may be available on other days of the week and may include: Field preparation for planting; seeding, greenhouse work, and transplanting; weed, pest and disease control; irrigation system use and maintenance; harvesting; washing and packing; building and general farm maintenance.

Compensation Details: Part-time contract goes until October 15th on this schedule, approximately 16 hours/week. Farm operates year-round, and further contracts may be available. Pay is $18/hr minus statutory deductions with 4% vacation pay. Start date as soon as possible.
