T&T Power Group is a company specializing in the sales and service of industrial engine-driven equipment. We are looking for a qualified candidate to take on the role of Estimating Manager within our estimating department. This support position requires the successful applicant to quickly understand the job's complexities and effectively manage various responsibilities in a short timeframe.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Leading and coordinating the preparation of accurate and timely estimates for project costs, including materials, labor, and equipment.
- Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and ensure the accuracy of estimates.
- Analyzing project specifications, drawings, and other documents to understand the scope of work and identify any potential challenges or opportunities for cost savings
- Meeting with clients to gain deeper understanding of requirements to ensure our work meets expectations
- Reviewing documentation to clearly and summarily provide instruction to team members
- Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure the availability of required resources.
- Reviewing and validating estimates prepared by team members, providing guidance and support to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Provide weekly, biweekly or monthly project status report to clients and executive management team and estimating team.
- Preparing detailed cost reports and presenting them to senior management, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize, remain calm and multi-task under pressure in a dynamic environment.
- Taking on anything that is sent their way and making it happen
Requirements:
Success in this role requires a high level of attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work within tight deadlines. Our potential estimating manager plays a crucial part in the financial success of projects, ensuring that all bids are competitive and project costs are controlled and delivered to completion.
- Several years of experience in estimating or a similar role within the construction or engineering industry
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and produce accurate estimates.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools, as well as general computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficient with, MS Word and Excel skills and ERP experience.
- Preference will be given to those with Electrical and/or mechanical engineering or applications experience
