As the website developer, you will work under the general direction of the Marketing Director to support the development and execution of websites, aimed at driving business growth and customer experience. This role encompasses both B2B and B2C business sites, along with the development of new sites. We are seeking an exceptionally skilled candidate with a keen eye for detail, who is eager to contribute to our brand, sales, and product growth efforts.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Update, manage, and monitor websites via WordPress.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and deploy web content and design spaces that attract, retain, and engage users across all online platforms.
  • Design sitemaps, streamline navigation, and develop web pages while gathering feedback to enhance Danby’s core website and sub-sites, ensuring adherence to AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) best practices.
  • Research, test, implement, and evaluate various plugins, software programs, and web technologies to optimize performance.
  • Publish content and maintain consistent themes and layouts using authentic imagery to reflect a unified brand voice.
  • Creatively solve and troubleshoot web-based issues with a focus on website security, performance, and user experience.
  • Support the oversight of website strategies and long-term objectives.
  • Analyze key website metrics and be proficient with SEO to recommend and implement improvements that boost SERP rankings, domain authority, UX, conversions, and backlink profiles.


Qualification:

  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in website development with working knowledge of marketing and communications
  • Experience in UX Design, UI Design, and MS applications including Outlook and Excel.
  • In-depth knowledge of content management systems (CMS), especially WordPress.
  • Proficiency in HTML/CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and experience working with web frameworks.
  • Highly collaborative team player with a customer-centric mindset.
  • An adaptable team player, with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Creative thinker with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with marketing analytics and digital tools, including Google Analytics, Search Console, and SEO platforms like SEMRush (preferred).
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiasm for continuous learning and staying current on web development trends and tools.


This role will be participating in Danbys hybrid work schedule. This will require that the successful candidate attend the physical workplace (5070 Whitelaw Road, Guelph, Ontario) every Tuesday, Thursday & Friday with the option of working from home the rest of the week.
