Task description

Leads assigned location to achieve COMP sales through consistent operational excellence, discipline and a committed team that executes flawlessly. Supports the District Manager in communicating corporate direction to the assigned store using the “one vision, one voice, one message” strategy. The role of the General Manager is to complete and execute the company's mission statement on a daily basis. Is obsessed with our product, people and our customers.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

Sales

  • Achieve or exceed assigned sales plans and target metrics in assigned store.
  • Maintains commitment to company sales processes, values and professional code of ethics.
  • Drives sales and monitors each MOD (Manager-on-Duty) segment and ensures poor performance issues are resolved.
  • Monitors employee-customer interactions and provides constructive feedback on ways employees can improve service and increase sales.
  • Responsible for driving customer traffic by attending approved local events and/or marketing opportunities.

Products

  • Ensures consistent execution of the marketing and visual presentation of the company.
  • Proactively identifies various market opportunities and makes recommendations to the District Manager for localized product, visual and marketing strategies.
  • Ensure store visual standards are met at all times by ensuring proper mix and depth of key SKUs and identifying store needs using and analyzing vendor sales reports.
  • Ability to build excitement and show passion for the product by communicating relevant fitness, fashion and product information to customers.

Human Resources

  • Demonstrates ability to develop a culture of recognition, accountability, discipline and urgency.
  • Trains staff on how to maximize sales potential through continuous development of product knowledge, customer service standards and visual presentation.
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective succession plan for the store.
  • Ensures adequate staffing at all times by organizing staff appropriately based on business trends.
  • Establishes specific performance standards and ensures that associates contribute to corporate objectives.
  • Mentors and develops key players to be ready for career progression.
  • Supervises employees in enforcing policies/procedures by documenting disciplinary actions and performance reviews.

Operations

  • Responsible for the overall expense management and profitability of the assigned location, including payroll, expenses and supplies.
  • Demonstrates ability to follow and ensure that all company customer service standards are consistently applied.
  • Maintain proper inventory controls, facilitate inventory transactions and mass counts.
  • Ensures pricing integrity and overall product pricing reflects current markdowns and margins.
  • Ensures inventory is archived, properly stocked and posted within 24 hours of receipt.
  • Ensures that the store is well maintained, in particular; dusting, mopping, windows and storage as per company housekeeping guidelines.
  • Maintains daily record of store sales, scheduling, damage, errors, failure, discounts granted to employees.
  • Effectively implements areas of responsibility to improve management team ownership, development, execution and accountability.
  • Completes daily planning and ensures discussions relating to overall performance and productivity.

Leadership

  • Demonstrates key behaviors for each core competency.
  • Is a role model by presenting a professional image in appearance, word and action.
  • Demonstrates excellent selling skills and teaches employees sales techniques.

Experience:

  • Retail management: 3 years (Compulsory)
  • Performance management: 4 years (Mandatory)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38 – 40 per week
