Our challenge

We are seeking an experienced Java Lead Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java development, a passion for technology, and the ability to lead a team of developers. Candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Java applications, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the frontend.

Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Mississauga, ON is CAD $120k - CAD $130k/year & benefits (see below).

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Java development team in delivering high-quality software solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand their business requirements and provide software development support
  • Develop and implement software development policies and procedures that align with the company's overall business objectives
  • Mentor and guide team members to grow their technical and soft skills
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in Java development

Skills & Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in Java development
  • Strong technical skills in Java, J2EE, Spring, and other Java frameworks
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g. Agile, Scrum, etc.)
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate software development goals into business value
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills

Day-to-Day Activities:

  • Lead Java development projects and ensure timely delivery of deliverables
  • Communicate with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide solutions, and present software development insights
  • Mentor and guide team members to deliver high-quality work
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and solve complex problems
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in Java development

Qualification:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

Professional certifications in Java development (e.g. Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 11 Developer, etc.) are a plus
