Field Senior Cost Analysts to work with one of our clients in the oil and gas industry in Montney, BC on a 12-month contract.
This is a site-based role.
Site work schedule is 14 days on and 14 days off with 12 hours per day.
Description:
We are looking for a Senior Cost Analyst who will be a subject matter expert in all aspects of Cost Management. This is a field-based role serving as a back-to-back to the other Senior Cost Analyst based in Surmont Facility, Fort McMurray, Alberta. This position will report to the Project Controls Lead – Execution and will be responsible for Cost Management of Fabrication activities carried out off-site and on-site Construction and Pre-commissioning activities.
This position will interact and coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including Quality Management, Construction Management, Project Management, Planning, Finance, Contracts Administration, Transportation, and Logistics.
The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert in using SAP/SAP HANA for cost management and have experience in implementing, testing, and providing feedback on an ERP system. Basic knowledge of Site View and Omega PIMS is also preferable.
Responsibilities may include:
- Working and co-located with site-based Construction Management Team (CMT).
- Providing inputs and suggesting improvements/changes to the Construction estimates put together by the internal cost estimation team as part of the Stage Gate process.
- Coordinating, validating, and analyzing construction estimates from contractors, discussions with CMT/other stakeholders before finalization and facilitating issuing work orders or change orders as per ConocoPhillips procedures.
- Developing/modifying cost reporting requirements tailored to the Project and facilitating implementation from contractors.
- Setting up Construction Cost Control/reporting, including developing or participating in finalizing WBS/CBS per company coding and execution plan.
- Coordinating with CMT, Supply Chain Management, and Finance departments to set up work orders and contracts in GEP/SAP/SAP HANA/PIMS aligned with ConocoPhillips Capital projects Procedures.
- Reviewing and finalizing Cost reports received from contractors and integrating the information into Internal cost reports.
- Administering LEMs from different contractors and ensuring quality and entry into SiteView or other internal software tools for Value of Work Done (VOWD).
- Administering Contractor’s Service Confirmations/Invoices and coordinating with contractors and other stakeholders.
- Managing Change Management for fabrication and construction, maintaining change logs, and administering the change order process.
- Providing inputs or developing allocation models to manage indirects and shared services.
- Attending to Adhoc requests from CMT, finance, SCM, or other stakeholders.
- Preparing accurate forecasts, spend profiles, and Long Range Plans aligned with capital project plans.
- Developing/ preparing and presenting cost reports, dashboards, and alerts to stakeholders.
- Organizing, presenting, or participating in cost review meetings with relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinating with contractors for close-out reports.
- Tracking, recording, and providing inputs to Estimation and other stakeholders on historical actuals, quantity, cost based rates.
- Other duties as required and directed by Project Controls Lead, Project Services Manager, and CMT.
Knowledge, Skills, and Other Requirements:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong technical, interpersonal, and team working skills.
- Familiarity with Stage Gate procedures.
- Experience with cost control requirements within all types of contract agreements.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and high level of accuracy.
- Efficiently prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- SiteView and Omega PIMS experience is an asset.
- Implementation of an ERP system/application is an asset.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years oil and gas industry experience in a Project Control role.
- Expert hands-on experience in using SAP/SAP HANA.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, especially MS Excel.
- Degree or Technical Certificate, or equivalent work experience.
