Responsibilities

1. Grading quality control:

  • Develop, implement and oversee a framework and process for moderation and standardization of grading, analyze moderation data and propose and implement recommendations for improvement through individualized meetings, targeted professional development sessions, collaboration with school staff and/or the curriculum development team, etc.
  • Monitor grading alignment and provide grader assessments to senior management for performance review.
  • Work collaboratively with the curriculum development team to standardize structures of grading guides to improve efficiency and consistency of grading.
  • Manage the updates and approvals of grading guidelines in conjunction with the curriculum team in response to collected grading data.
  • Collaborate with leadership and the curriculum team to use data to create teacher and partner school support materials.


2. Item Analysis:

  • Develop a framework and process for item-analysis.
  • Implement analysis for the following subject areas: English, Social Sciences and Business.
  • Analyze large-scale curriculum assessments strategies using grades data.
  • Work with the Technology team to create meaningful reports for recommendations to curriculum and operations


3. Curriculum Support:

  • Co-lead evaluation strategy and item renewal development, leveraging data and feedback from grading management and item analysis.
  • Pilot new grading items with teaching staff.


4. Other:

  • Using data collected, provide expert advice to senior management on approaches to program outcomes and policy objectives evaluation, and performance management.
  • Support decision-making processes by undertaking reviews, evaluation and evidence-based assessment of policies, goals and priorities.
  • Track and analyze the team’s key performance indicators and outcome measures to assess progress towards strategic objectives.


General Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in IB-Ontario education at the 9-12 level, department head or lead teacher preferred (English/Social Sciences subjects)
  • Extensive knowledge and experiences in IB and Ontario curriculum, teaching and learning, with professional methodology and mindset on academic excellence
  • Strong understanding of inter-reliability/intra-reliability within grading practices and curriculum
  • Proficient skills in large-scale learning data analysis, insight development and reporting
  • Proven track record of success in developing methodology and practices to improve teaching effectiveness and learning outcomes
  • Deep understanding of teaching management and academic measurements in schools
  • Experiences working with various stakeholders from different cultural backgrounds
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills in English; excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively a fast-paced corporate environment


Technical Expertise:

  • you have specialized knowledge of evaluation, such as design, data collection, analysis, interpretation and reporting
  • you understand the knowledge base of evaluation, the application of evaluation methods, and the development of tools, data analysis/interpretation and recommendations
  • you have a knowledge base of performance monitoring, including the development of evidence-based outcome measures, indicators, performance measures, and logic models
  • you have evaluative thinking skills to manage unique interests, issues and contextual circumstances
  • you have knowledge of evidence-based decision making frameworks, methodologies and techniques


Relationship Management, Consultation and Communication Skills:

  • you demonstrate consensus-building, interpersonal, conflict resolution, influencing and mediation skills to address diverse interests and obtain buy-in for evaluation initiatives and projects
  • you can prepare and present complex evaluation information


Analytical, Problem Solving and Computer Skills:

  • you have excellent analytical, research and problem-solving skills to undertake evidence-based assessments, lead evaluation priorities, and develop and champion a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation strategy
  • you demonstrate sound decision making skills to manage competing interests of stakeholders, and to develop creative solutions to mitigate risks and resolve issues
  • you are proficient with computers to prepare documents and conduct research Project Management, Leadership and

Work-location Policy:

This role is a hybrid position. The candidate should be able to commute to Rosedale HQ office at Markham at least 2 days per week.
