How you will make a difference:

The Finance Manager is a pivotal member of the finance leadership team, responsible for managing accounting and financial reporting operations of one of the YM group’s entities. The ideal candidate will have technical accounting and reporting skills along with strong business acumen. The Finance Manager is expected to actively engage in hands-on tasks, while also providing insightful financial guidance to senior leadership. Exceptional communication skills are required for effectively conveying financial insights and collaborating with cross-functional teams to help achieve business goals. The role involves managing a team of direct reports, necessitating strong managerial skills to coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.


What You’ll Do:

· Oversee general ledger accounting activities to ensure smooth and timely month, quarter and year end reporting

· Compile monthly financial reporting package including executive commentaries and high-level variance analyses to provide leadership with a clear understanding of the company's financial performance

· Responsible for reviewing balance sheet reconciliations to support accuracy and completeness of financial statements.

· Collaborate with and support FP&A analyst in developing annual budgets, forecasts and variance analysis.

· Manage the income tax provision and liaise with external tax advisors to manage corporation tax returns

· Coordinate external audits to ensure support and information requests are provided for interim and annual reviews.

· Review and manage sales tax processes and technical applications in all corporate jurisdictions

· Ensure continuous review and improvement of internal controls over financial reporting in compliance with internal and external financial policies and regulations.

· Manage a team of financial analysts and accountants, participate in recruitment, selection and training of direct reports as necessary


What You’ll Need:

· Proven work experience in a senior financial capacity

· 8-12 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience

· CPA preferred

· Experience in a privately-owned business preferred

· Thorough knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including generally accepted accounting principles in both Canada and the US

· Experience in automated financial and accounting reporting systems

· Knowledge of federal and provincial/state financial and tax regulations

· Proficient in Microsoft Office
