Red Chris Mining has an opportunity for a safety-oriented, self-motivated Mine Engineer Co-op Student (Technical Services Open Pit). Reporting to the Senior Mine Engineer (Short-Range), the Co-op Student will provide support in a variety of engineering activities. This is an 8-month fixed-term contract with an annual salary range of 66,000-72,000 depending on relevant skills, experience and qualifications.
Essential DutiesActual engineering duties are subject to change based on Company needs, but can span the following disciplines and their respective tasks:
- Drill & Blast: Patter design, QA/QC, and reconciliation, etc.
- Geotechnical Engineering: Routine inspections, instrumentation monitoring, etc.
- Mine Engineering: Daily, weekly, and monthly reporting, including drafting, data entry, volumetric and variance analysis, etc.
- Surveying: Design field layout and picks-ups, drone operation, data analysis, etc.
Assuming other duties and responsibilities as required in response to changing circumstance and the economic and physical environment of the Company
Training & Experience- Active enrolment in Co-op a Bachelor of Science (or similar) BSc Engineering program
- Prior experience in mine planning and field operations will be considered an asset
