Overview of Role:

D2 are actively seeking talented and driven individuals to join our Schedule Management Team. We are sourcing a strong pool of candidates to support a diverse range of public and private infrastructure projects in Ontario and across multiple sectors (e.g. Transportation, Healthcare) for both public and private sector clients on major infrastructure, transit and construction projects in Ontario. Responsibilities:

  • Provide and support to project teams on schedule management, ensuring consistent application of best practices and guidelines.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules, ensuring alignment with project requirements and enterprise procedures.
  • Analyze schedule performance, conduct critical path analysis identify potential risks and issues, and help facilitate their resolution.
  • Perform "what-if" scenario analysis.
  • Ensure accurate schedule tracking and reporting, providing oversight and quality control.
  • Develop and implement Earned Value Management best practices.
  • Modify existing scheduling processes by correcting problems, resolving issues, and updating work methods, incorporating lessons learned and adapting best practices from third-party advisors.
  • Ensure projects adhere to schedule plans, providing necessary due diligence, and delivering progress measurement reports.
  • Communicate effectively with project teams, project managers and stakeholders, ensuring consistent schedule inputs and updates.
  • Lead schedule due diligence and oversee third-party advisors for designated projects.
  • Provide training and guidance to project teams on scheduling best practices.
  • Mentor and guide junior staff.
  • Support the evaluation of construction claims and schedule impacts of changes.
  • Drive continuous improvement and optimization of scheduling processes and tools, including streamlined data management and stakeholder communication.
  • Support the development and growth of the scheduling practice within D2.


Requirements:

  • Experience based on position/seniority: 5-15 years of experience in schedule management within a major projects environment (e.g. transportation, infrastructure, energy)
  • Software Proficiency: Expertise in Primavera P6, Acumen Fuse. 3D and 4D Modelling experience is considered an asset. Proficiency in Excel is required.
  • Delivery Models & Contracting Strategies (preferable): Familiarity with a wide variety of delivery models and contracting strategies deemed an asset – e.g. progressive design-build, Alliance, CM@Risk, DBB, P3.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex scheduling challenges.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex scheduling information to diverse audiences.
  • Education: A degree in a relevant field is preferred (e.g. engineering, construction management).
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI-SP, AACE or equivalent are a plus.
