SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director – Financial Reporting, the Senior Financial Analyst is a critical role in producing insightful financial analysis and reporting to senior management, shareholders, Board of Directors, and lenders, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities to support strategic decision-making.

The incumbent will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. They will also contribute to document accounting policies, implement and communicate them across the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and prepare executive-level financial performance reports, presentations and dashboards.
  • Conduct variance analysis, valuate cost structure, identify trends, risks and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual statutory financial statements.
  • Assist with year-end audits and provide documentation and support as needed.
  • Contribute to document accounting policies for the organization.
  • Assist with corporation taxes and insurance related matters.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance efficiency, and strengthen internal controls, implementing best practices as needed.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

CPA designation.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years experience.
  • Experience in an accounting firm.
  • Bilingual (English and French) as this role must communicate with out of province stakeholders.
  • Strong background in accounting principles (GAAP for private enterprise), consolidation and financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data and trends effectively.
  • Outstanding organisational skills including the ability to manage and prioritise concurrent tasks, meet deadlines and to work in an independent, flexible manner where required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders (both internal and external) both in the provision of information, support and advice.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, rapidly evolving organization.
  • Self-motivated and pro-active achiever able to meet deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft D365 Business experience (preferable).

RESPONSABILITÉS


  • Élaborer et préparer des rapports, des présentations et des tableaux de bord sur la performance financière au niveau de la direction.
  • Effectuer des analyses d'écarts, évaluer la structure des coûts, identifier les tendances, les risques et les opportunités d'économies.
  • Préparer les états financiers statutaires mensuels, trimestriels et annuels.
  • Participer aux audits de fin d'année et fournir la documentation et le soutien nécessaires.
  • Contribuer à la documentation des politiques comptables de l'organisation.
  • Aider aux questions liées aux impôts sur les sociétés et aux assurances.
  • Identifier les opportunités de rationalisation des processus comptables, d'amélioration de l'efficacité et de renforcement des contrôles internes, en mettant en œuvre les meilleures pratiques selon les besoins.

  • Baccalauréat en comptabilité

EXPÉRIENCE AND COMPÉTENCES

  • Minimum de 5 années d’expérience.
  • Expérience dans un cabinet comptable.
  • Bilingue (anglais et français) car ce rôle doit communiquer avec des intervenants hors province.
  • Solide expérience en principes comptables (PCGR pour les entreprises privées), consolidation et rapports financiers, et conformité réglementaire.
  • Solides compétences analytiques et souci du détail, avec la capacité d'interpréter efficacement les données et les tendances financières.
  • Excellentes compétences organisationnelles, notamment la capacité à gérer et à hiérarchiser des tâches simultanées, à respecter les délais et à travailler de manière indépendante et flexible si nécessaire.
  • Excellentes compétences en communication écrite et verbale avec la capacité d'interagir avec un large éventail de parties prenantes (internes et externes) à la fois dans la fourniture d'informations, de soutien et de conseils.
  • Capacité à s'épanouir dans une organisation dynamique en évolution rapide.
  • Motivé et proactif, capable de respecter les délais.
  • Maîtrise avancée de Microsoft Excel et Microsoft D365 Expérience professionnelle (préférable).
