The Sales Director - Retail Media will be responsible for leading retailer account management and in-country advertising sales for Canadian in-store retail media networks. As a key member of the advertising sales team, the Sales Director will focus on maximizing revenue opportunities for the Retailer Networks, managing direct accounts, and enabling other sales representatives working with multinational advertisers. The role involves ensuring smooth network operations, driving successful account growth, and achieving or surpassing sales targets.


WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Manage network coordination with US counterparts and Canadian retail accounts.
  • Handle advertising sales activities with a specified list of vendor accounts and indirect sales accounts.
  • Prospect and lead outreach efforts to attract new retailer vendor advertisers to the network.
  • Develop account-specific sales strategies to drive advertising revenue growth for the Canadian Networks from all assigned accounts.
  • Coordinate and develop revenue growth support initiatives, including custom marketing materials, programming elements, and retail endorsements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, including client and agency personnel.
  • Maintain a general understanding of industry trends and competitive activities relevant to all assigned accounts.
  • Provide weekly updates to the Head of Advertising Sales

IDEAL BACKGROUND

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of 7 years of sales experience in media/marketing services, shopper marketing, promotions, or a related organization focusing on retail media.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant business experience in a related field.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Nice to Haves:

  • Proven track record of success in selling marketing services and/or advertising to brands.
  • Strong understanding of media, promotional, and marketing services sales strategies, with the ability to articulate and implement these strategies effectively.
  • Experience selling to consumer-packaged goods companies.
  • Ability to adapt to the rapidly changing marketplace of digital out-of-home media.
  • Understanding of retail merchandising.
  • Established relationships with key decision-makers at clients and agencies.
