Position Summary

Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you We are seeking a motivated Licensed Practical Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital.

In accordance with established vision and values of the organization, the Licensed Practical Nurse, Operating Room, provides practical nursing services in an operating room environment as a member of an integrated surgical team performing varied surgical interventions. Consults, confers, and collaborates with other members of the surgical team in facilitating safe and effective surgical interventions through the performance of scrubbing and circulating duties in accordance with established standards and protocols. This includes pre-operative, operative, and post-operative activities such as assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting client care, and providing support to clients and their families.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday / Days - 11:15 to 18:00

Prince Rupert Regional Hospital is a 24-bed facility that sees an average of 22,000 ER visits per year. It is a fully equipped facility with medical imaging, laboratory, ICU, ER, and maternity. Services include:

  4. CT Scans
  5. Surgery
  6. Emergency Department
  7. Extended Care
  8. Pediatrics
  9. Radiology
  10. Obstetrics
  11. Gynecology

Additional services such as Diabetes Education, Healthy Heart and Rehabilitation, Podiatry, Orthopedics, and other visiting specialists.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses with the full range of current licensed practical nursing competencies, and graduation from an accredited O.R. program for Licensed Practical Nurses plus one (1) year recent related experience working as a Licensed Practical Nurse in acute care, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Current full practicing licensure with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Current CPR certification required.
