Schwank North America, head office in Mississauga, Ontario, is hiring for a Finance Manager who will be accountable for overall direction and policy for our financial, HR, and business administrative activities. The Finance Manager will report directly to the President of Schwank N.A. This is a full time permanent, hybrid position.


The successful candidate will oversee the finance, accounting, payroll, tax, reporting, costing, budget, risk management, cashflow, inventory optimization, business administration, HR administration, office management, federal and provincial government subsidy program applications relating to hiring, training, etc. for Schwanks' Canada and U.S. entities.


Additionally, the successful candidate will have opportunities to work on cost efficiencies and optimize administration within the organization including benefits, vacation, insurance, and corporate structure (entities).


Qualifications

It is essential that the successful candidate possess the following education, experience, and personal characteristics:


Education

Relevant post-secondary designation (CMA, CPA, CA, MBA). Must be registered with CPA Ontario to be considered.


Experience

At least 5 years of experience managing finance for a manufacturing company

● Demonstrated success working as a collaborative team member.

Proven leadership capabilities.

● Refined business and financial acumen, with the ability to comprehend and communicate financial results.

● Demonstrated ability to analyze industry trends relating to administration and finance, and successfully implement programs to optimize corporate performance.

● Demonstrated ability to build relationships, both internally and with external stakeholders.

Candidate Success Factors

● Producing accurate and timely financial statements for Schwank’s HVAC Business

● Producing accurate and timely financial statements for Schwank Grills Business

● Leading and developing the finance and accounting teams, responsible for the day-to-day finance and accounting of the company.

● Effectively managing the Company’s working capital and cash flow.

● Identifying and implementing new meaningful financial systems and reports (based on industry trends/standards) to provide a forward-looking view of the financial status of the company, allowing for knowledge-based, day-to-day decision-making at all levels of the company.

● Analyzing the financial performance of the Company and recommending any necessary changes.

● Successful project management, implementation, and adoption of IT systems as they pertain to finance.

● Identifying opportunities for applications to government programs for hiring and training ensuring applications are accurately completed in a timely fashion.

● Overseeing the Company’s financial policies and procedures and risk mitigation strategies, ensuring they are optimized and in accordance with good practices of internal control and generally accepted accounting principles.

● Reviewing and managing the policies associated with inventory management and control.

● Reporting on and managing all payments to third parties including rebates, commissions, and bonuses.

● Managing payroll, compensation adjustments, and bonus calculations.

● Overseeing and improving the following areas: insurance management, health benefits for Canada and the US, 401k and RSP benefits, vacation management.

● The development and maintenance of financial and risk mitigation strategies, including hedging, foreign exchange, insurance, international expansion, and assisting with the general management of the Canadian operations.
