Job Description:
Building a safety culture with site management, coworkers, and subcontractors.
Conducting site safety inspections, worker orientations, training, and participating in pre-job planning.
Reporting and assisting management with WSIB claims; ensuring timely completion of accident/injury reporting to the Health & Safety Manager.
Implementing and maintaining COR audit of health and safety program.
Accountable for all environmental health and safety aspects.
Provide technical support in the development of action plans for the environment and safety for the site to ensure delivery of targeted Key Performance Indicators.
Facilitates and monitors compliance to management of change procedure.
Leads Environment and Safety projects from the conceptual stage to business case development through to implementation.
Stays current with local legislation changes and ensures the organization complies with implementation standards, technical documents, policies, and procedures.
Provides troubleshooting assistance to departments when required.

Qualifications
Minimum 3 years’ experience in safety/environmental-related experience.
Experience and knowledge in environment and safety legislation and policies.
Experience in environment and safety management practices and auditing for compliance.
Familiar with “COR” –Certificate of Recognition.
Well-developed computer skills.
Sound analytical skills to develop/understand business cases.
Ability to cross-functionally move between departments and divisions.
Willingness to work as needed and as required outside of normal business hours.
Coach employees on their roles and responsibilities, and safe practices
Industrial Construction Experience is preferred.
Results-driven with an ability to deliver success in a fast-paced environment.
Outcome focused, critical thinker.
Ability to connect and interact with people to seek different perspectives.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities.
