Job Summary

Reporting to Director, IT Delivery, the IT Finance & Vendor Manager is responsible for developing, overseeing, and executing financial and vendor management processes & metrics related to IT goals and strategies, which are in line with our corporate objectives. This role includes managing IT procurements, vendor relationships, and delivering related IT projects.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for updating and maintaining the overall vendor management strategy from ‘As Is’ to ‘To Be’ Target state over a 3-5-year plan, including invoice and vendor consolidation.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with IT Leadership to ensure that the appropriate due diligence and controls are applied to vendor selection, contracts, and ongoing management of all IT vendors and consultants.
  • Manage the IT budget: Forecasting, tracking operational and capital expenditures, accruals, etc., in collaboration with the IT Delivery Director, CIO, and Finance.
  • Act as an IT Project Manager and/or participate in cross-functional projects as required.
  • Work closely with IT Project Managers to forecast, track, and measure project expenditures against the IT budget.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day administration associated with the purchase, billing, tracking, and renewal of all IT vendor relationships, including process improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure all IT invoices are reviewed and processed accurately, while also working to optimize billing workflows and achieve gains in efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement by monitoring and reviewing vendor metrics, performance against SLAs, and trends in pricing, and identifying the need for process enhancements related to vendor management and invoicing workflows.
  • Work closely with IT Technical Leads and IT Leadership to review external technology solutions and services ensuring consistency with business direction and technology sustainability.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or Bachelor of Commerce Degree or related business degree.
  • 3-5 years of vendor management experience including prior involvement in the vendor selection process including RFI/RFP and the review and negotiation of contracts, ongoing monitoring of vendor performance against service level agreements, and preparation and involvement in contracts renewals, etc.
  • Previous experience with budget management, for example project budgets, operational budgets.
  • Experience with design-centered thinking and a proven track record with problem definition and resolution.
  • Demonstrated strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Thrives in an agile, fast-paced, and delivery-focused environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to think and work independently combined with the work experience and courage to challenge existing practices and make recommendations for change.
  • Previous experience working with internal and external Audit is preferred, including preparing supporting documentation/evidence and testing controls in response to IT audits and SOC2 controls.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and highly organized.
  • Strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Solid understanding of key IT business and technology disciplines including strategy, governance, Business Analysis, Project Management, SDLC, DevOps is an asset.
