Position Overview

Reporting to the VP Corporate Services, the IT Operations Specialist works hand-in-hand with our managed service provider to manage day-to-day IT operations, maintain systems and networks, ensure data security, and deliver support to end users with their technology needs. This includes troubleshooting applications and software, identifying opportunities for improvement, and performing onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems.

Key Responsibilities

IT Infrastructure & Support

  • In conjunction with the MSP, manage and maintain the organization's IT systems, including computers, cloud services, and networking equipment.
  • Provide technical support to staff for IT related issues and troubleshooting.
  • Work with IT vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage technology-related expenses.
  • Provide training to staff on IT best practices and document system processes and troubleshooting procedures.

Cybersecurity & Data Protection

  • Implement security protocols to safeguard sensitive information, ensure compliance with data protection regulations, and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans.

Software & Systems Management

  • Implement, integrate, and ensure maintenance of software solutions (CRM, Power Apps, collaboration tools, etc.) used and supported by the organization.
  • Maintain and enhance performance of all new and existing software and applications across the organization.
  • Recommend technology improvements to enhance efficiency and impact.

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Conduct research into software application products and services in support of development and purchasing efforts.
  • Provide support for the testing of new and existing software applications under development or consideration for purchase.

Operational Management

  • Field incoming support tickets from end users to resolve application and software issues within cloud applications, on-premise technology, and other mission-critical systems.
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, configuring systems and applications and installing hardware.
  • Test fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.
  • Support data visualization, Power Platform and data analytics creation requests, and manage special IT projects as needed.
  • Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in the field of computer science, information systems, or related field, and minimum 3-5 years in IT support or administration, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven history of achieving and maintaining appropriate certifications with preference given to Microsoft certifications around M365, PowerPlatform and Azure Cloud Management
  • In-depth, hands-on knowledge of, and experience with, enterprise and desktop applications, including Microsoft 365, Microsoft PowerPlatform, Dynamics CRM, and other Line of Business Applications in a hybrid work environment.
  • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
  • Ability to develop and interpret technical documentation for training and end-user procedures.
  • Knowledge of trends in technology relating to software applications, AI, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Experience with building and maintaining databases for query and problem tracking.
  • Experience working within an ITSM or enterprise ticketing platform.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a mission-driven, team-based environment.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Ability to work in-office 4-5 days per week.

Salary Range: $68,000 - $75,000/per annum
