St. Joseph's Health Care, London is seeking a dynamic Manager, Communication and Public Affairs, to provide strategic leadership and operational management to a team of highly skilled communication professionals.
Dedicated to enhancing the experience of our patients, residents, staff and physicians through storytelling, strategic communications, crisis management, brand building, and community and media relations, the St. Joseph's award-winning Communication and Public Affairs team excels in communication that makes an impact, driven by strategy, best practice, innovation and creativity.
Reporting to the Vice President, External Relations and Chief Communication Officer, this leadership position will support the team in developing and implementing strategic communication and engagement plans and in managing the daily operations of a high performing, multi-disciplinary team. Through values-based actions and strong servant leadership practice, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring excellence, maintaining effective team performance and building meaningful internal and external relationships.
Essential to this role is a collaborative leadership style and capacity to inspire, mentor and guide a forward-thinking team while building on each individual's strengths.
The successful candidate holds a Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Public Relations, Journalism or an equivalent combination of university and/or college education and experience. An extensive background in strategic communication development and implementation, brand and reputation management and stakeholder engagement is demonstrated by at least five years of progressive experience. Preference will be given to candidates with leadership experience within large, complex health care related organizations.
Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA, ability and commitment to act as a supervisor under OHSA is also required.
The successful candidate will be required to provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella and varicella (chicken pox) and provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing. Also provide documentation you have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine (primary series, boosters and/or XBB) OR one dose of XBB vaccine at least 14 days prior to the start date.
