In your dynamic role as an Assistant Controller, your day kicks off with a much-needed caffeine boost, diving into financial statement review for your designated territory before presenting to upper management; highlighting the monthly story that occurred. Collaborating closely with the Controller, you craft an annual budget, analyzing information and forecasting financial landscapes. As the day wraps, you get a call from the Fleet Manager asking for an updated review of the company’s fleet expenses to begin preparation for new Forklift purchases for the coming year.

In your role, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the controller in the preparation and analysis of financial statements and notes in the Financial Statements;
  • Track and reconcile the fixed assets;
  • Participate actively in the end-of-month and year-end process with the external auditors;
  • Follow the "transfer pricing" for redistributed transactions in other legal entities;
  • Track prepaid fees, current receivables, monthly installments;
  • Reconcile all forms of ledgers (inventory, AP, AR, sale);
  • F/X Reassessment of payable, receivable, bank account in other currencies;
  • Validation of payroll variances;
  • Redistribute costs shared between related companies;
  • Calculate and track monthly provisions.

Financial Analysis Responsibilities

  • Assist the controller in the preparation of the annual budget jointly with the departmental directors;
  • Calculate bonus payouts for various departments based on objectives;
  • Assist the controller in various financial analysis (inventory, sales, COGS, margin, insurance companies, process improvements);
  • Participate in monthly meetings with Operation Managers;
  • Participate with the controller in the migration to AX 365.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in administration, accounting option;
  • Hold an accounting title (CPA);
  • 1-3 years accounting experience;
  • Previous experience as an assistant-controller, an asset;
  • Experience in the manufacturing field (an asset);
  • Bilingualism (English and French) both orally and in writing (English is necessary to serve our clients in the United States & Ontario);
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX (an asset);
  • Advanced Excel Proficiency;
  • Excellent analytical skills;
  • Great organization skills and ability to respect deadlines;
  • Team player and autonomous.
