We have an immediate opening for a Production Manager. The successful candidate must be able to be on site at the Pure Life Carbon facility in Red Deer. Pure Life Carbon offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

THE POSITION

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to join our team, focusing on managing production, operations and maintenance of electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, and plumbing systems, and manufacturing processes. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills to ensure that production targets are met efficiently and safely and plays a key role in the expansion and maintenance of the existing facility.

This position is ideal for candidates with at least 5 years of experience in designing and maintaining electrical and instrumentation systems within manufacturing and processing facilities. The successful candidate will be a journeyman electrician, possibly with additional qualifications in related disciplines, and will thrive in a dynamic operations environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Facility Management

  • Assist senior leadership with the development, commissioning, and staffing of the manufacturing facility.
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and safety of the facility to maximize performance and ensure compliance with legal and certification requirements (e.g., ISO).
  • Hire, supervise, and support team members, ensuring they are well-trained, understand their roles, and are provided with adequate supervision, coaching, and performance reviews.
  • Manage resources responsibly, controlling expenses to meet budgetary constraints while tracking and implementing cost reductions related to efficiency and labor.
  • Establish and maintain manufacturing workflows by monitoring processes, setting variables, and making necessary adjustments to maintain productivity and quality.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain and Sales teams to anticipate and address process, supply, and inventory challenges.
  • Create and implement policies and procedures, and maintain reporting systems to monitor productivity, process control, and performance.
  • Foster cooperation within and between departments, working closely with LAB and QA/QC teams to ensure product quality and adherence to company standards.
  • Ensure the operation of equipment by coordinating repairs, evaluating new techniques, and maintaining a safe, clean work environment in compliance with established policies.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Journeyman Electrician Certification required. Certifications in other related disciplines considered an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Journeyman Electrician or in other related disciplines.
  • Proven track record working in manufacturing and processing facilities.
  • Experience in instrumentation technology and control systems an asset.
  • Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to guide and mentor team members.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within a team-oriented environment.
  • Class 5 unrestricted Driver’s License and clean 5-year Drivers Abstract and ability to travel with own transportation.
  • Must be able to travel internationally.
  • Ability to work at remote sites is necessary.
