Position Summary

The Production Control Analyst candidate will be part of a professional team of analysts reporting to the Team Lead. Responsible for the smooth operation of the daily workload of the automated systems. These systems provide Batch load management for the daily workload of the business systems, as well as monitoring and incident response and intervention. The candidate will be involved in the daily maintenance and execution of the batch environments and monitoring of the overall health of the business backend processes. When not directly involved with the operations of the daily activities, the candidate will also be responsible for automation improvements and leveraging emerging technologies to improve the operations of the systems under their supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Monitoring and manipulating the live environment to execute batch requests and modify the batch environment.
  2. Due to security clearance reasons, you need to be in Canada for at least 5 years and your current work status should be either Permanent Resident or Citizenship of Canada.
  3. Support application upgrades and updates to the live environment as well as supporting development environments.
  4. Monitor the health of the live environment to pre-emptively resolve problems before loss of service occurs.
  5. Support incident process and escalation by monitoring after regular service desk hours.
  6. Running batch processing using our Batch Scheduling tool (Tivoli Workload Scheduler).
  7. On-call duties including weekends and shifts covering all manner of shifts Day-Evening-Night (Rotation).
  8. Production print duties, including operation of multiple printers in a secure environment (On-Site).
  9. The ability to work independently with little to no supervision.

Required Qualifications

  1. Education: Post-secondary diploma or degree with a focus on computer technology or related experience.
  2. Work Experience: Three (3) or more years experience in a live enterprise environment providing business services.
  3. Other Qualifications: Ability to assess priorities and meet deadlines under the pressure of time constraints.
  4. Computer Skills: Strong knowledge in UNIX or LINUX and Windows operating systems and an aptitude and interest in learning new technology and computer software; Scripting and coding for automation; knowledge of monitoring and workload scheduling tools and their use.
  5. Language Skills: Bilingualism would be considered an asset.

Security Clearance Requirement:

  1. To be successful in this position, you will be required to have Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B) prior to your start date. This includes Fingerprinting, Criminal Record Check, Credit Check, and you must have resided in Canada for at least 5 years and hold Permanent Resident or Citizenship Status.
