Location: Toronto, ON
Our client is one of the largest manufacturers of high-quality, innovative office furniture solutions, committed to delivering products and services that enhance the workplace experience for their clients. They are currently seeking a talented Programmer Analyst with a deep understanding of the IBM iSeries AS400 to join their team and contribute to their continued growth and success.
Position Overview:
- The Programmer Analyst will be responsible for supporting ongoing technical activities and analyzing future needs to ensure the efficiency and optimization of automated systems applications. This individual will play a key role in designing, developing, enhancing, and maintaining systems and interfaces. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, experience with IBM iSeries/AS400, and proficiency in RPG programming.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Development: Design, write, and maintain RPG programs, including those in RPG IV, RPG ILE, and RPG SQL, ensuring robust and efficient system functionality.
- Systems Integration: Create, test, and integrate new systems, as well as interfaces into existing systems, to meet evolving business requirements.
- Maintenance: Maintain and troubleshoot existing custom modules, customer interfaces (EDI, XML, EDT, Fax, Email), and 3rd party programs such as IBM Sterling and GENTRAN.
- Collaboration: Serve as a technical resource to team members, providing guidance and assistance when needed.
- Testing & Troubleshooting: Conduct thorough testing of new code, automate processes, and identify areas for improvement to enhance system performance.
