Job Title: Data Architect – Capital Markets (Snowflake)

Location: 3 Days Onsite, , Downtown Toronto

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Data Architect with a deep expertise in capital markets and Snowflake to join our client's team. In this key role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data architecture that supports of asset management operations and enhances decision-making processes. You will leverage your expertise in data modeling, asset management, and Snowflake to design and implement master data models for critical datasets such as Master Security, Master Price, Master Products, and Client Master.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the data landscape of a leading asset management firm, driving data-driven decision-making and supporting business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Develop Master Data Models: Create and maintain master data models for key asset management datasets (e.g., Master Security, Master Price, Master Products).
  • Data Architecture Design: Build scalable, efficient, and secure data architectures to support asset management operations, reporting, and analytics.
  • Data Modeling & Schema Development: Develop complex data models, schemas, and data flow diagrams that support asset management systems.
  • Optimize Data Architecture in Snowflake: Optimize and fine-tune data solutions within Snowflake to ensure high performance and scalability.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with platform teams and business stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate those into actionable data models.
  • Data Integrity & Quality Assurance: Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and integrity across all data models, maintaining high-quality data throughout the system.
  • Documentation & Best Practices: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation on data models, data flows, and overall data architecture. Provide guidance on data governance and management best practices.
  • Integration with Existing Systems: Collaborate closely with technology and business teams to ensure seamless integration of data models into current systems.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date on the latest trends, tools, and advancements in data architecture and Snowflake to ensure the organization remains at the cutting edge of data management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Architect with a focus on asset management and/or financial services. 10+ years
  • Strong knowledge of data architecture principles, data modeling, and database design. 10+ years
  • Hands-on experience in designing and implementing master data models for critical datasets. 10+ years
  • Proficiency in SQL and other data manipulation languages. 10+ years
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to manage complex data systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in data architecture and data warehousing solutions, with at least 3 years specializing in asset management or financial services.
  • In-depth knowledge of asset management processes, financial instruments, and industry regulations.
  • Familiarity with data governance and best practices in data management.
  • Experience with data integration tools and ETL processes.
