Webuild has won a new contract to deliver the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations section of the Ontario Line and we are currently seeking a Construction Manager.
This position is a full-time 100% onsite position at our downtown office.
POSITION SUMMARY
Reports to Construction Manager:
As the Construction Manager for the Pape Tunnel project, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the construction process, ensuring that the project is completed safely, on time, and within budget. You will work closely with the project team, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure that all construction activities meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all construction activities related to the Pape Tunnel project, including excavation, tunneling, concrete work, and installation of underground utilities.
- Develop and implement project schedules, ensuring that construction milestones are met and that the project remains on track.
- Manage project budget and expenditures, identifying cost-saving opportunities and addressing budgetary concerns as they arise.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to review design plans and specifications, ensuring that construction activities are aligned with project requirements.
- Supervise and mentor construction staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that all team members perform their duties effectively.
- Implement safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all project personnel.
- Liaise with project stakeholders, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, and local communities, to address concerns and ensure project success.
- Prepare regular progress reports and updates for project stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and achievements.
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in construction management, with a focus on large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Proven track record of successfully managing underground construction projects, including tunnels, subways, or similar structures.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate project teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on finding practical solutions to complex construction challenges.
- Knowledge of construction regulations and industry best practices, with a commitment to upholding safety standards and quality assurance.
- PMP or other relevant certifications are preferred.
