Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Tenant Improvement Project Manager to oversee and manage various commercial tenant improvement projects. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of projects from initial design through to completion. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing TI projects, excellent organizational and communication skills, and a deep understanding of construction processes and standards.
Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight: Lead and manage tenant improvement projects from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns and maintaining effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Team Leadership: Coordinate and manage subcontractors, trades, and in-house staff, ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
- Scheduling & Budgeting: Create and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation, tracking progress and ensuring financial and timeline goals are met.
- Permit and Code Compliance: Oversee permit applications, inspections, and ensure all work complies with local building codes and regulations.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any issues or challenges that arise on-site, ensuring minimal disruption to the project flow.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all aspects of the tenant improvement work meet the required quality standards and specifications.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain project documentation, including contracts, change orders, RFIs, and progress reports.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, specifically in tenant improvement (TI) projects or commercial construction.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, safety standards, and regulations.
- Skills:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) and MS Office Suite.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, contracts, and project specifications.
- Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent is an asset, but not required.
- Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Greater Vancouver area, with easy access to New Westminster.
