Health And Safety Manager

Position Overview: our client is a ICI General Contractor who is seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Manager to oversee and enhance their health and safety programs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, developing safety policies, and fostering a culture of safety across all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development: Create, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety programs that comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Training & Education: Conduct safety training sessions for employees and subcontractors to promote a strong understanding of safety practices and protocols.
- Risk Assessment: Perform regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Incident Management: Investigate workplace incidents, prepare reports, and implement measures to prevent future occurrences.
- Policy Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation and standards, maintaining accurate documentation and reporting.
- Safety Culture Promotion: Foster a proactive safety culture through continuous communication, employee engagement, and safety recognition programs.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular safety performance reports to management, highlighting areas for improvement and success.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure safety considerations are integrated into project planning and execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in health and safety management, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Occupational Health and Safety Technologist) are a plus.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
