The Role

  • Prepare and deliver classes and lab demonstrations to students enrolled in the Medical Office Assistant Program
  • Evaluate student progress through assignments, exams and lab competencies
  • Facilitate student achievement and professionalism through mentorship and coaching
  • Provide feedback for continuous program improvement
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback for students and answer student questions
  • Ensuring students are meeting course objectives
  • Providing students with educational support and effective study strategies
  • Motivating students to participate in all aspects of the educational process actively
  • All other duties as required for the position

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of progressive and diverse hands-on clinical experience in a hospital department or related clinic
  • Previous teaching experience or educational qualifications preferred, with experience teaching online, considered an asset
  • Must have experience using HealthQuest
  • Experience using Moodle online learning platform and Teams as an asset
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to thrive in a team environment are required
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • A high degree of flexibility and adaptability to unexpected and changing conditions
  • Ability to function effectively in a team environment
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Positive & respectful attitude
