Your Opportunity at SECURE Energy

As our Project Manager, Engineering & Construction, you will be responsible for managing a variety of MOC (Management of Change) projects initiated by our Operations team related to tanks, instrumentation, registered vessels, process piping, pipelines, pumps, and blanket gas systems. You will use project management best practices to define the project scope, budget, and schedule, identify project risks and opportunities, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project requirements are being met. You will be responsible for identifying and gathering the stakeholders and resources required to build the project team.

This role is based out of Calgary, Alberta.

The Team

The Engineering and Construction team is a collaborative team that works with customers to ensure their opportunities achieve solutions and meet their needs.

Work Environment

This is a full-time in-office position. This role requires an individual who can work in a fast-paced environment, manage projects simultaneously, and have prior experience managing Engineering & Construction projects within the Oil & Gas Industry.

A Day in The Life

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  1. Liaise with our Operations team in a specified geographical/operational area to identify opportunities and support with executing value-added MOC projects.
  2. Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables that support the business goals in collaboration with Operations, Contractors, and Internal Stakeholders.
  3. Assemble a budget for the completion of the scope within the agreed scheduled timeline and progress the plan through monitoring and forecasting against the budget.
  4. Ensure compliance with all Occupational Health & Safety regulations applicable to the Province in which the project is being executed.
  5. Track project milestones and deliverables, ensuring corrective action is taken, when necessary, to improve project performance.
  6. Manage and assess risk for the duration of the project.
  7. Ensure projects are being delivered on-time and within scope and budget.
  8. Ongoing identification of opportunities and risks of the project and develop plans to capitalize on or mitigate them, while consistently communicating back to the stakeholders.
  9. Hand-off the completed and commissioned project, coordinating delivery from the construction and technical teams to the Operations team, ensure full understanding and training is completed on the project deliverables.
Skills, Experience, & Qualifications

The individual in this role will have:

  1. 2-5 years of experience managing engineering-related projects in the Oil & Gas industry.
  2. Eng., CET, RET, EIT or equivalent is a requirement.
  3. Experience in managing sustaining projects up between $0 to $500k in value and demonstrated growth in complexity of stakeholder engagement.
  4. Proven working relationship with Operations, driving project success.
  5. Professional experience in managing with proven project management best practices.
  6. The ability to work collaboratively and communicate with varied stakeholders and groups.
  7. Strong writing skills needed for the development of clear and concise project planning documents.
  8. Received previous training in reading engineered drawings, technical specifications, and contracts.
  9. Strong attention to detail.
  10. Proficient in the use of project management software (MS Project, Excel, etc.).
  11. Formal training or certification in Project Management is considered an asset.
  12. An understanding of SECURE’s services and operations.
