Role Overview:

As the Manager, Collections and Remarketing, you'll be at the forefront of shaping and driving key financial recovery and asset remarketing strategies. Leading a team of six direct reports, you'll have the opportunity to bring fresh ideas, optimize processes, and spearhead new initiatives that will enhance efficiency and profitability.

You won't be doing it alone—you'll have the support of an experienced Senior Director and a highly tenured co-manager who will provide guidance and insight as you take ownership of this dynamic function. Key Responsibilities

1. Collections & Recovery

  • Develop and implement debt recovery strategies to improve collections performance.
  • Monitor delinquent accounts, analyze risk factors, and manage payment negotiations.
  • Ensure compliance with legal regulations and consumer protection laws.
  • Oversee legal collections, repossession strategies, and third-party collection agency coordination.
  • Maintain customer relationships while enforcing contract obligations.

2. Remarketing & Asset Management

  • Assess market value of repossessed or returned assets to optimize remarketing strategies.
  • Manage inventory, track asset conditions, and coordinate sales channels (dealers, auctions, online platforms).
  • Develop pricing strategies and promotional campaigns to maximize asset recovery value.
  • Ensure timely liquidation of assets while minimizing depreciation and storage costs.

3. Compliance & Regulations

  • Oversee legal recovery processes, ensuring alignment with industry regulations and internal policies.
  • Ensure all collections and remarketing activities comply with contract enforcement, data privacy, and financial laws.
  • Work closely with legal counsel to resolve disputes and manage escalations.

4. Performance & KPI Management

  • Track collections effectiveness, recovery rates, and Days Past Due (DPD) metrics.
  • Generate reports and dashboards for senior management to monitor performance.
  • Implement strategies to improve key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational efficiency.

5. Financial & Risk Analysis

  • Develop loss mitigation strategies to minimize financial exposure.
  • Analyze portfolio trends to identify risk factors and optimize recovery strategies.

6. Systems & Process Improvement

  • Leverage technology for process automation, data analytics, and reporting enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline collections and remarketing workflows.

7. Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, train, and mentor a team of six professionals, driving performance and engagement.
  • Develop team goals, provide coaching, and manage conflict resolution.
  • Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams, including finance, sales, and legal.

8. Stakeholder & Relationship Management

  • Engage with dealer networks, auction houses, and third-party service providers.
  • Coordinate with legal counsel and external recovery partners to optimize outcomes.
  • Maintain customer relations while ensuring adherence to financial commitments.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in collections, debt recovery, or asset remarketing.
  • Experience in captive finance
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, contract enforcement, and financial risk management.
  • Excellent negotiation, leadership, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in data analytics, reporting tools, and process automation systems.
  • Fluency in French and English is required (both written and spoken).
