About Us
We are KGS Group, an employee-owned, multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm serving clients throughout North America. We're different than traditional engineering firms. We believe a commitment to lasting relationships is just as critical as the expertise applied in our work. To us that means we put our clients and people first. We have the discipline to consistently deliver KGS Group Quality, never taking the easy way out. We always look closer and dig deeper. And no matter the project, we care enough to do it right.
As an employee-owned company, we're invested in our work and our people. It's a place where you can apply your abilities and contribute to challenging and meaningful projects across Canada, the U.S. and beyond. With the extensive, wide-ranging expertise within our company, you'll also have countless opportunities to learn and grow.
The Role
With a focus on project delivery, you will be responsible for managing tasks and survey responsibilities for various clients throughout Saskatchewan. The selected candidate will be required to perform a range of field surveys including but not limited to construction grade staking, topographic, quantity, volume, preliminary, and layout surveys. Daily tasks may include attending and contributing to safety meetings, recording accurate collection of measurements and as-builts, record keeping and preparation of field notes, setting control, and working within a team.
In this role, you will become an onsite surveyor. The ability to work and travel to project sites will be required throughout all seasons. Vehicles, per diems, and out-of-town accommodation will be provided.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Operate GPS survey instruments and software.
- Establish and monitor control points.
- Perform RTK site surveys as required including topographic cross sections, quantity surveys, second grading, utility locations, culvert markers, and general site services.
- Design calculations and reporting.
- Contributing to a positive safety culture.
- Other tasks as required.
About You
To fill the role, we're looking for an applicant with the following qualifications:
- 1-2 years of surveying experience.
- Completion of a 2-year survey technician program would be considered a strong asset.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently, and within tight timelines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
KGS Group is an employee-owned equal opportunity company offering an excellent compensation and benefits package.
KGS Group welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities. Upon request, KGS Group will provide reasonable accommodation for disabilities to support participation of candidates in all aspects of the recruitment process.
