We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Intermediate Piping Designer to join our team


This is a temporary full-time position with an anticipated start date of September 16 and end date of December 19, 2024, at which time it may be extended dependent on workload. This position has a requirement to travel to site, in Fort Saskatchewan, AB.


What are we looking for?

  • Piping designer with a continuous work experience of 2+ years using Smartplant 3D and 5+ years of industry experience within Piping Design discipline
  • Perform self-checks of models and drawings, clash detection, identify issues, and provide solutions in a timely manner
  • Review and adhere to client and industry codes, standards, and specifications
  • Adhere to Project scope, budgets, and maintain schedule
  • Coordinate with all disciplines as required
  • All candidates must be effective in verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have knowledge of North American drafting standards with the understanding and willingness to comply with guidelines of Quality assurance systems that have been implemented


What do we value?

  • Diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology or equivalent from a technical college
  • Proficient with Intergraph SmartPlant 3D (S3D) by modifying, creating new, and as-building 3D models
  • Proficient with Intergraph SmartPlant P&ID (SPID)
  • Other design software experience is an asset, including CADWorx, Autodesk Plant 3D, and Autoplant
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as liaison with members of the team will be necessary
  • Self-starter with strong, interpersonal, teamwork, problem solving, clear communication, multi- tasking, and organizational skills
  • Maintaining and building strong relationships with team members, clients, and various vendors
  • Willingness to learn and grow in the engineering field
