We have an exciting opportunity availableWe are seeking a full time Estimating Administrator to join our Estimating team in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. This is a one-year term position with the possibility of an extension or switch to a permanent position.


SUMMARY OF POSITION

This position is responsible for receiving tender related information and the tracking, filing and distribution of this information to all relevant parties. Accountable for maintaining all tender documents up-to-date, consistent and organized in an orderly fashion for all other parties in estimating. The primary focus is to build relations with subcontractors to gather proposals for estimating and keeping order of all preconstruction documents for tendering. This position may be required to work outside of traditional hours if a tender is closing.


Specific duties include but are not limited to:

  • Manage tender documents from receipt to after-tender close
  • Bid invitations to subtrades
  • Notify all related construction associations of intent to bid
  • Review and complete understanding of instructions to bidders
  • Review bonding requirements. Order and receive as required
  • Upload tender documents to website and maintain with current information throughout tender process
  • Communicate with subtrades to ensure scope coverage in advance of tender close
  • Receive and organize subtrade quotations
  • Complete tender forms for tender submission
  • After tender submission, scan and file quotations
  • Ensure tender files are complete, organized and filed properly
  • Assist mark user bid on all tendered projects to maintain and grow subtrade database
  • Manage subtrade database including new entries
  • Manage the creation of tender file and budget file numbers
  • Provide assistance with bid follow up and result tracking
  • General assistance to estimating staff


REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an administrative role.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in construction with knowledge of construction processes, verbiage and concepts.
  • Degree/Diploma in Architectural and Building Technology would be an asset.
  • Knowledge in commercial and industrial construction is preferred.
  • Previous experience working in estimating is an asset.
  • Knowledgeable in using office equipment, Microsoft Office Programs and Estimating software.
