Job Title: Senior Manager, IT Core Investment Data

IMCO is looking for a highly motivated Senior Manager, IT Core Investment Data to join our team

The Senior Manager, IT Core Investment Data, is responsible for managing the team in all phases of SDLC, including design, development, and support of the data warehouses on Azure. A pivotal responsibility is to own strategic data onboarding onto the enterprise data warehouse, including providing a clear vision, maintaining a strategic roadmap, and acting as the program manager for this initiative. As lead liaison to stakeholders, the role will be responsible for understanding corporate objectives, anticipating the needs of stakeholders, managing team capacity to align with upcoming business needs, and overseeing overall technology development, solution delivery, and operational support. The role will also support project initiatives in providing data and complex integration solutions on the Azure cloud, adhering to IMCO's policies, processes, procedures, and overall supportability of all applications. The incumbent will contribute to strategic discussions with senior stakeholders across the organization. This role will report to the Director, Data Technology.

You Will be Responsible For:
  • Lead, advise, and oversee a team of Business System Analysts, Data Engineers, and Quality Assurance testers to support solution delivery, systems upgrades, and day-to-day activities.
  • Maintain the strategic data roadmap for the enterprise and facilitate the prioritization of data initiatives with business stakeholders and IT verticals supporting business stakeholders.
  • Oversee the Product roadmap for the Enterprise data warehouse and help identify and work with business IT/Data to manage the product backlog.
  • Oversee new solutions to support data integration, including the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes, ensuring data quality and consistency throughout the process with Azure data technology, including Azure Synapse Analytics, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Data bricks, and Azure Data Lake.
  • Collaborate with the Cyber and Data Enablement teams to ensure that data security and governance policies are followed and that appropriate controls are applied to protect information stored in the data warehouse.
  • Collaborate with architects to define and implement scalable, efficient, and robust data warehouse architecture, data flow, and models for relational, hierarchies, and dimensional warehouses.
  • Define and refine operational processes, SOC 2 compliance, and production support, as well as ensure the supportability of all solutions with proper documentation and training.
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure data's effective implementation and integration into the data warehouse environment.
  • Act as a trusted partner, technical advisor, and subject matter expert in data warehousing to business partners, IT stakeholders, and operation teams.
  • Lead planning and oversee decisions to align with organizational objectives, directions, and priorities.
  • Create departmental roles and be involved with hiring decisions. Create a culture that attracts and develops staff to maximize performance and efficiency.
  • Continuously elevate service levels with all business users. Assure transparency of delivery and support functions and resolutions of stakeholders’ issues.
  • Contribute to developing the IT strategic data roadmap and team objectives with the Director and other senior IT leaders.
  • Foster an environment that promotes innovation and continuous improvement. Coach and mentor team to develop their full potential.
  • Contribute to ongoing budget planning and tracking.
  • Contribute to business cases for corporate projects and systems implementations.
  • Evaluating and selecting third-party vendors for data warehousing tools and enhancement of technologies.
  • Monitor operational risk and systems performance management in all initiatives.
What do you need to succeed?
  • Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in computer science, engineering, business, or a related discipline with a minimum of ten years of experience in data warehousing and integration.
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role, managing product delivery teams and delivering data warehouse solutions.
  • Strong experience in managing complex data warehouse projects with multi-year data roadmap.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing relationships between IT partners and business stakeholders.
  • A strong background in data solutions to effectively partner and communicate with business, IT partners, and architecture teams.
  • Strong understanding of investment and market data with a preference to experience in the asset management industry.
  • Strong understanding of master data management, including investment reference data, data hierarchy concepts, and solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven success communicating with the stakeholders, technical teams, and senior management.
  • Demonstrated ability to wear multiple hats, including project management, requirement analysis, solution design, visioning, planning, testing, and solutions implementation.
  • Knowledge of solution development life cycles, including planning, requirement, analysis, design, build, testing, implementation, and post-implementation activities.
  • Good understanding of agile practices, with experience operating in Kanban or Scrum for delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate comfortably with business and technical teams.
  • Domain knowledge in IT service management, including incident management, change management, configuration management, and operations management.
  • Prior involvement with third-party vendors, internal and external operational audits.
  • Provide leadership and practice in change management.
  • Understanding programming in Python and SQL.
  • Knowledge of investment systems, Eagle PACE is preferred.
  • Knowledge in reporting and analytics with Power BI is preferred.
  • Experience in the Product Owner/Manager role is an asset.
  • CFA, CBAP, PMI-PBA, CSC, Lean and/or Six Sigma, or PMP designation is an asset.
  • Exposure to data science, machine learning, and LLM are assets.
