Overview: As a Personal Support Worker (PSW) Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education and training to students pursuing careers in the healthcare sector, particularly in the role of a PSW. Your role will involve designing curriculum, conducting classes, providing hands-on training, and assessing student performance to ensure they meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development:
- Develop and update curriculum content in accordance with the guidelines provided by the National Association of Career Colleges (NACC) and other relevant regulatory bodies.
- Incorporate industry best practices, emerging trends, and evidence-based approaches into curriculum design.
- Instruction and Delivery:
- Deliver lectures, conduct practical demonstrations, and facilitate interactive learning sessions to engage students effectively.
- Utilize various teaching methodologies, including lectures, group discussions, case studies, and simulations, to cater to diverse learning styles.
- Clinical Training:
- Arrange and supervise clinical placements for students in healthcare facilities to provide hands-on training and exposure to real-world settings.
- Monitor and evaluate students' performance during clinical placements, providing constructive feedback and support as needed.
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Develop assessment tools and grading criteria to evaluate students' comprehension, skills acquisition, and professional behaviors.
- Conduct fair and timely assessments, maintain accurate records of student progress, and provide feedback to promote continuous improvement.
- Student Support and Mentorship:
- Offer academic guidance, mentorship, and support to students to foster their personal and professional development.
- Address student concerns, provide advice on career pathways, and refer students to appropriate resources when needed.
- Professional Development:
- Stay updated with advancements in the field of healthcare, particularly in the role of PSWs, through continuous learning, attending workshops, and participating in relevant professional development activities.
- Maintain active membership in professional associations and networks to stay connected with industry trends and opportunities.
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 per week

Education:
- DCS / DEC (preferred)
Experience:
- Working as a PSW or in a related healthcare role: 2 years (required)
- Canadian clinical environment: 2 years (required)

- Current RN registration with CNO Ontario (CNO) (required)
Work Location: In person
