Mission

The Construction Coordinator- Buildings, Electrical, Mechanical- is responsible for hands-on field support, acting as a liaison between Construction Superintendents and site trades, ensuring that scheduling, work performance, and adherence to project goals are aligned and in order. We require candidates with skills in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Plumbing (MEP) Coordination for the construction of large, heavy civil use buildings.

Main Responsibilities

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensure adherence to Project Safety policies.
  2. Review and understand project schedule.
  3. Oversee and facilitate the installation of equipment and components for a project to ensure contractors are fulfilling all obligations and that work is carried out according to approved contracts, specifications, and schedules.
  4. Serve as a liaison with project management reporting on inspections, subcontracting, progress, and delays.
  5. Participate in project meetings and facilitate regularly scheduled meetings related to BIM execution and deliverables for the project.
  6. Support integration of project data such as schedule, estimate, documentation, cost reports, and performance data.
  7. Interpret designs and drawings for technicians.
  8. Track RFIs, Shop Drawings, As-built drawings, and other project documents.
  9. Proactively identify and work to resolve any site issues that may impede project delivery.
  10. Provide technical knowledge and input to assist installing contractors.

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills and ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
  • Ability to work in a cost-effective, customer-focused, team-based environment.
  • Effective team participation and ability to coordinate work of drafters.
  • Previous experience working on a large public infrastructure project is an asset.
  • Valid driver's license, preferably with a clean abstract.

LOCATION: The applicant for this position must reside in Edmonton for the duration of the Project.

Work Environment:

In-process construction site, which includes working at heights, outdoors in all types of Edmonton weather, climbing stairs and ladders, negotiating steep or slippery terrain, noise, and dust.
