What To Expect:
The Mechanic Assistant supports mechanics and technicians in maintaining, repairing, and servicing warehouse equipment and machinery. This role plays a vital part in daily maintenance operations, ensuring equipment is in optimal working condition to minimize downtime and maintain a safe work environment.
What you will bring to the Team:
Available to work Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends; flexibility for afternoon shifts
Some knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Knowledge of high and low-voltage systems would be an asset
Welding, Plumbing and Pipe Fitting experience would be an asset.
Able to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics, building blueprints, procedure manuals, and operating and maintenance manuals.
Strong understanding of health and safety requirements related to maintenance.
Able to prioritize and meet deadlines while working with shifting priorities and minimal supervision
Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency, ensuring timely and efficient results
Able to Independently lift up to 25 kg
As The Mechanic Assistant, You Will:
Work from a task-driven work order system performing routine preventative maintenance and repairs with a strong priority directed toward material handling Equipment.
Assist with maintenance projects (e.g. transporting and/or securing materials, completing specific tasks, etc
Clean building and grounds areas as needed and/or assigned.
Coordinate with skilled tradesmen and/or assigned supervisor(s) to complete projects and work orders efficiently.
Perform a wide variety of general and semiskilled maintenance activities (e.g. carpentry, painting, electrical, etc.)
Prepare written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, to document activities and/or convey information.
Repair furniture and building system components to ensure safe work conditions.
Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Compensation: $26.10 an hour to start
