Job Responsibility:

Are you ready to join Canada's most-shopped general merchandise retailer? Canadian Tire offers customers a unique mix of products and services through three specialty categories where the organization is the market leader - automotive parts, accessories and service; sports and leisure products; and home products.

Summary:

The Promotions Associate is responsible for executing various merchandising strategies and weekly in-store promotions, along with store maintenance such as hole checks, stocking shelves, and merchandising.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks:

Customer Service
  • Learns about new products on a regular basis.
  • Keeps up to date with in-store promotions, deals, and product locations.
  • Guides customers to the location of requested items.
  • Demonstrates product knowledge.
  • Handles customer and staff inquiries, requests, and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Supports a positive customer experience.
Operations
  • Executes weekly deals and ensures promotional items are placed and priced appropriately.
  • Operates computer and scanning devices for tracking inventory.
  • Stocks shelves and merchandise display areas neatly.
  • Maintains inventory accuracy and identifies/reports low stock levels.
  • Complies with company policies and health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Basic math skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Standing/walking for 8 hours.
  • Lifting and/or carrying merchandise items regularly.
  • Ability to go up and down a ladder and stairs while carrying merchandise.
