The Pharmacy Assistant is expected to participate in all aspects of Pharmacy Operations required of a team player. They are a key member in the delivery of superior customer service.

- Effectuer les fonctions sur ordinateur selon les directives données par le pharmacien, c.-à-d., entrer les données, vérifier le prix, entrer ou mettre à jour les renseignements sur le patient, interpréter avec compétence et traiter les ordonnances écrites, y compris reconnaître les abréviations latines, le nom du médicament et le calcul de la dose, effectuer les renouvellements d’ordonnance, générer des rapports, vérifier le profil du patient.
- Remplir les ordonnances (toujours sous la supervision du pharmacien); sélectionner les produits appropriés; suivre le programme d’exactitude, y compris la vérification en 7 points, la vérification visuelle et celle du DIN; sélectionner, compter, mesurer et préparer les produits appropriés; étiqueter et disposer pour la vérification du pharmacien; obtenir les approbations nécessaires pour les renouvellements verbaux autorisés, lorsque cela est autorisé; utiliser des formulaires « ARRÊT » (STOP), s'il y a lieu; s'occuper de tous les aspects des services cognitifs.
- Maintenir le contrôle des stocks; aider le pharmacien à maintenir des niveaux de stock appropriés des médicaments et des fournitures; vérifier et retirer les médicaments périmés au moins chaque mois; nettoyer le bac À appeler des ordonnances « périmées » sur une base régulière; consigner les retours; commander des médicaments et des fournitures; cocher, établir le prix et ranger les commandes pharmaceutiques; utiliser le plus souvent possible le grossiste préféré pour les achats de la pharmacie; utiliser le pistolet Texlon; vérifier les prix et mettre de côté les commandes de la pharmacie; faire le zonage des tablettes de la pharmacie; marquer avec un X les bouteilles ouvertes, avoir des connaissances sur les médicaments interchangeables; bien maintenir et sélectionner les médicaments des marques-clés ou les médicaments génériques préférés.
- Stocker les fournitures pour la préparation des ordonnances (sacs, étiquettes, fioles); garder l’officine propre, organisée et ordonnée; en tant que membre de l’équipe, maintenir un environnement de travail propre et sécuritaire (par exemple, faire la vaisselle, vider les déchets); maintenir et nettoyer les appareils de dosage et d'emballage, l'ordinateur, le télécopieur, etc.
- Tâches administratives : classer les ordonnances, les factures, les rapports, la correspondance et les notes de service ainsi qu'effectuer des tâches administratives assignées (par exemple, les journaux, les comptes clients, les rapports de vérification des produits expirés).
- Aider à l’exploitation du PVL ainsi que commander, stocker, faire des tâches de caissier qui sont assignées par le gérant du PVL ou le pharmacien.
