Important Note:


Role Overview:

  • The PM will support a risk-based program focused on operational efficiency and achieving project milestones.
  • The role involves managing risks effectively, as it is a key success factor for the program.
  • The stakeholders are global, requiring strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • The ideal candidate should have experience with risk initiatives and a technical background (though not an app development team).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing both operational and IT risk while driving conversations and shaping narratives around risk and being transparent
  • 60% of work packages are related to understanding and service mapping, rather than application development.
  • Service mapping is not limited to one application but is instead global in scope.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • OSFI experience is required – The background should demonstrate an understanding of how OSFI guidelines impact technology and applications is necessary so they need to tech experience in regulatory projects and not specifically the functional side of things like process development.
  • Banking or financial domain experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience with large-scale projects ($2M - $5M) is required to demonstrate the necessary seniority and depth.
  • The PM should come from a delivery background managing multiple stakeholders, rather than a single stakeholder/single project environment.
  • Candidates with only a risk analyst background will not be a fit—they need to have managed risk within technology projects.


Department: Enterprise Technology and Services (ETS) PMO Reports to: ETS PMO Program Lead Position Overview:

The ETS PMO Project Manager is responsible for the project management and delivery of key workstreams under the Global Technical Resilience Program: Service mapping, Resilience Framework, Operational Checklist, and Rapid Recovery Planning.


Key Responsibilities:


Execution Excellence and Project Management:

  • Develop and manage project plans and milestones across multiple workstreams, ensuring successful delivery through established governance structures.
  • Provide input to Program Lead for stakeholders and executive communications via forums such as Steering Committees, Design Authorities, and Transformation Committees.
  • Proactively identify, escalate, and resolve risks and barriers to execution.


Individual Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Risk & Control Governance groups to ensure projects are effectively assessed and managed from a risk perspective.
  • Manage project scope, requirements, and implementation with stakeholders, ensuring outcomes are delivered within budget and schedule while meeting business objectives.
  • Monitor project progress, highlighting key delivery risks, issues, and dependencies through portfolio governance.
  • Provide monthly project status detailing project health, including cost, scope, and benefits, to support informed decision-making.
  • Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks, ensuring documentation and control measures are in place.
  • Facilitate effective communication among project teams, stakeholders, and sponsors.


Soft Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of delivering updates to all levels, including senior management.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, proficient in tools like Excel for data analysis.
  • Ability to articulate the technical strategy and expected outcomes effectively.
  • Ability to influence, demonstrates collaborative skills and deliver results amidst ambiguity.


Job Requirements:

  • 5+ years managing multiple projects within a program.
  • Experience managing and delivering technical solutions that meet OFSI Regulatory requirements and support technical resilience.
  • Proven ability to identify and communicate key risks and issues, ensuring transparency and alignment with business objectives.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, proficient in tools like Excel for data analysis.
