DOF Subsea Canada is currently seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused individual for the position of Survey Electronics/Information Technology Technician. A key to success for this position is the ability to collaborate with offshore and onshore personnel. The Survey ET/IT Technician will report to the Project Manager. We are looking to expand our survey team to support ongoing long-term multi-year international and local projects. Expected 4 to 6 week rotation.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Install and maintain survey equipment throughout offshore operations.
  2. Troubleshoot faulty equipment; provide inventory listings, and equipment fault reports.
  3. Responsible for the installation and testing of survey equipment and systems, as well as the project maintenance of survey equipment and systems.
  4. Must manage all survey/ROV interface cables.
  5. Shall notify the Party Chief / Project Manager of any non-serviceable survey equipment.
  6. Commission, calibrate and decommission all survey equipment to the satisfaction of the Offshore Manager/Party Chief.
  7. Ensure the safe operation of survey equipment and systems.
  8. Accountable for the offshore tracking of project equipment and for the demobilization and shipping of survey equipment.
  9. Must support the on-line surveyor during operations.
  10. Maintain equipment logs and inventories.
  11. Prepare and maintain cabling and interface diagrams.
  12. Monitor instruction and performance of other junior technicians.
  13. Communicate, on a daily basis, with the Party Chief.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Post Secondary Education in Electronics, IT, Hydrographic Survey or Geomatics (Experience can compensate for lack of formal competency).
  2. Experience within Oil & Gas/Renewables Industry is an asset.
  3. Proficient in Microsoft Suite - Word/Excel/PowerPoint and Document Control Systems.
  4. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
