Express Employment Professionals, Red Deer is actively seeking a Design Technician for a reputable local client in Red Deer. Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and update 3D schematics: Design 3D models, schematics, and detailed assembly drawings using CAD software.
  • Produce machine drawings: Translate concepts into fully functional drawings that support manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers: Work closely with the engineering team to ensure designs meet project specifications and technical requirements.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality: Review designs for accuracy, feasibility, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Component measurement: Accurately measure and record dimensions of components, ensuring all measurements are precise and documented.
  • Maintain project documentation: Produce and update spreadsheets related to project components, timelines, and materials.
  • Revise and improve designs: Continuously refine and adjust drawings based on feedback from the production and engineering teams.
  • Support production teams: Provide design insights and technical support during manufacturing and assembly phases.


Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel for creating and updating project documentation.
  • Previous experience in drafting and design within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while managing multiple projects.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines.


Work Schedule:

  • Full-time hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM.
  • Flexibility available for a 4-day workweek or mixed full/half-day scheduling.
