Reporting to the Manager, the Psychologist II, will be responsible for supporting Forensic Assessment & Outpatient Services (FAOS), Rocky Mountain Program (RMP), and Community Geographic Team (CGT). The incumbent is to primarily provide clinical supervisory services, and direct clinical care, according to the professional standards of practice and the code of conduct of AHS/Recovery Alberta. Primary responsibilities include clinical supervision, program development, evaluation, clinic operations; secondarily include assessment, treatment, groups, and counseling of legally mandated adults. Located on site at Sunridge Professional Centre, with requirements to travel to Calgary Correctional Center, and locations within Southern Alberta. Required to provide clinical supervision of all staff, promoting best practices and standards, and offering professional development opportunities. Participate in development and implementation of policies, procedures and guidelines. Involved in aspects of change management, program development, implementation and evaluation, research, and participate in staff training/in-service education. Responsible for consultation to the members of the interdisciplinary team, and other professionals, to maintain liaisons with community resources for the benefit of patient discharge, identifying patient needs and connecting with community resources. Supports the manager by participating in a range of activities: day-to-day client/clinical concerns, allocation of resources such as case management/reviews, referrals, OSR, etc. Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule, as some early evenings will be required for the provision of group therapy/supervision. Work will be performed with a high degree of independence, balanced with strong collaboration with leadership, within accordance of program and professional standards of practice.

As a Psychologist II, you will provide advanced clinical services (including psychological assessment, diagnosis and/or intervention), consultation and education to the interprofessional team and patients/families, and/or provides clinical leadership and coordination in an assigned program area. This is an advanced level psychology position that will allow you to work with or within teams to provide and inform services for patients with complex and multi-dimensional medical, psychological, interpersonal, environmental and/or instrumental needs. You will consult, collaborate, and enact initiatives to ensure that practices are evidence based and in alignment with psychology standards of practice and code of ethics, as well as policy, legislation and regulations. You will be expected to lead, facilitate and/or participate in program, policy, and procedure development, service planning, staff development, quality improvement and evaluation, and/or research activities as identified by the needs of the service area(s). You may provide supervision to doctoral level psychology residents, master's level interns, provisional psychologists, psychometrists and other team members.

Completion of doctoral degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) or American Psychological Association (APA) program. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).

Minimum 1-year recent experience providing direct clinical supervision, in the last 3 years. Minimum 3 years prior clinical experience in a community mental health setting providing mental health assessment and intervention(s). Minimum 3 year prior experience providing therapy (group and individual) and restricted psychosocial interventions. Strong interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written), interviewing techniques, and the ability to work within an interdisciplinary setting. Strong knowledge of DSM-5. Demonstrated conflict resolution and change management skills. Demonstrated ability to be creative, flexible, well organized, efficient, self directed, dependable, and a collaborative systems thinker. Strong computer skills. Formal training or practical experience utilizing CBT, DBT, Group Psychotherapy, Family therapy &/or other endorsed forms of therapy. In-Depth knowledge of mental health / Mental Illness required. NVCI.

Experience in a Forensic mental health setting. Experience providing direct clinical care to an offending population/individuals involved with the legal system. Experience working with sexual and intimate partner violence offenders. Experience providing clinical supervision in a community mental health setting. Experience working within the Outpatient Service Redesign (OSR) Model. Current CPR an asset. Experience working within a correctional institution & or with a forensic population.
