Position Overview: As a Residential Construction Traveling Training Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the skills and knowledge of our Project Manager workforce. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive training programs to ensure our team members are equipped with the necessary competencies to excel in their roles. From initial new hire training to providing ongoing training and development opportunities, you will be instrumental in fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel on a semi-national level to conduct on-site training with our Project Management staff.
- Develop and implement training programs tailored to the specific needs of our Project Managers.
- Collaborate with COO, VP of Operations, and other department heads to identify training needs and establish learning objectives.
- Periodically evaluate current training materials, including presentations, docs, videos, and interactive modules, to deliver ongoing effective learning experiences.
- Conduct training sessions both in-person and virtually, ensuring content is delivered in an engaging and impactful manner.
- Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics, adjusting as needed to improve outcomes.
- Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and requirements to ensure training content remains current and relevant.
- Lead initiatives to promote a training culture of ongoing quality, and innovation through training and development activities.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to travel on a semi-national basis two to three weeks out of every month.
- At least 5 years’ experience in residential construction management.
- Past experience in construction training and development, with a strong understanding of adapting training needs to the individual person is preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of general construction and estimating.
- Ability to read, understand and organize construction plans and specifications.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Identify skill gaps and training needs through assessments and feedback from supervisors and management.
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS), CRM systems, cloud-based technology, and other training software tools preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass drug test.
