Technical Trainer (Field & Training Facility)


The Opportunity


Altrad is currently in search of an experienced Technical Trainer to become a vital part of our team at a prominent Construction Project situated in Kitimat, BC. This role entails a 14:7 roster (or 20:8 roster – depending on the point of hire), working 10 hours per day. Flights and accommodation will be provided for non-local candidates on a Full-Time/Fixed-Term Contract basis. As a Technical Trainer, you will play a crucial role in developing and delivering training programs for our field personnel and clients at the LNG Canada site. Your expertise will ensure that our teams are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards. Job Responsibilities


  • Create, implement, and evaluate technical training programs for insulation operations at the Training Centre and in the field.
  • Perform Verification of Competency (VOC) assessments to ensure trainees meet industry standards and expectations.
  • Provide hands-on application training to field personnel, focusing on insulation techniques and best practices.
  • Conduct assessments and provide coaching to team members in the field to ensure adherence to quality and safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate training records and documentation for all personnel, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Work closely with project managers and supervisors to identify training needs and objectives tailored to insulation tasks.
  • Foster a motivating and supportive learning environment, encouraging continuous improvement among team members.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and advancements to incorporate into training programs.
  • Demonstrate a willingness and capability to perform other duties as deemed appropriate and consistent with your professional qualifications, skills, and experience.


Job Requirements


  • Proven experience as a Technical Trainer, with exposure to field work
  • Red Seal Journeyperson – Insulation qualification – MANDATORY
  • Minimum 10 years experience in Insulation with strong knowledge and understanding of application techniques
  • High level of accuracy in data entry
  • Experienced in the use of Record Management Systems
  • High level of proficiency using Microsoft Office and Sharepoint.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality training programs.
  • High level of understanding of the qualifications frameworks and training requirements within the Resources, Oil and Gas and Construction Industries.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
