Responsibilities of the resoures:

  • Install, Manage, Patch, Upgrade Z/OS Software and Hardware o Skills to upgrade from zOS 2.2 to zOS 2.4 and 3.1
  • Ability to upgrade ISV products and identify compatibility requirements for new zOS releases
  • Manage and update IO Definitions and make required IOCDS updates.
  • Understand HMC/SE functionality.
  • Ability to manage logical partition profiles and Ficon/OSA configuration.
  • Ability to install ICSF and understand Crypto functionality.
  • Ability to manage TCP/IP and SNA Traffic
  • Understand Mainframe Print
  • Understand and support Top Secret environment.
  • Understand Mainframe DASD and Tape in particular DS8K and TS7760 Grid configuration.
  • Provides direct technical support for all requirements in the planning, coordination, programming, and implementation of releases, upgrades, or changes to the Mainframe Operating System software, as well as the associated systems management products (backup, monitoring, capacity planning, etc.) and associated hardware infrastructure relating to Mainframe computing
  • Plans and implements major systems software upgrades, ensuring change management procedures and methodologies are implemented and followed
  • Perform troubleshooting of hardware and software issues
  • Assist in resolving issues and performing maintenance or manage maintenance by outside vendors, if necessary
  • Respond reliably and promptly during off hours and works to resolve system issues when needed.
