The Site Superintendent will oversee all field operations for a mid-rise multi-family construction project, ensuring that work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires effective leadership and communication skills to coordinate with various trades, subcontractors, and the project management team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management:
  • Supervise and manage all on-site construction activities for the mid-rise multi-family project.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager to develop and update construction schedules.
  • Ensure that the project is built in strict accordance with plans, specifications, and local building codes.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as necessary to meet deadlines.


  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead and manage the on-site construction team, including subcontractors and laborers.
  • Provide clear instructions and guidance to all team members.
  • Conduct regular site meetings to review project status, safety, and quality.
  • Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise on-site promptly and efficiently.


  • Quality Control:
  • Perform regular inspections to ensure that work meets the company’s quality standards and client expectations.
  • Address any deficiencies and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Maintain detailed records of all inspections, tests, and evaluations.


  • Safety Management:
  • Enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for all personnel.
  • Conduct daily safety briefings and regular site inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with and other relevant safety standards.


  • Communication:
  • Maintain effective communication with the Project Manager, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates on project status, potential risks, and any issues that may affect the project timeline or budget.
  • Facilitate clear and timely communication between the on-site team and the office.


  • Budget and Cost Control:
  • Assist in managing project costs by minimizing waste and ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Review and approve timesheets, invoices, and other financial documents related to the project.
  • Identify potential cost-saving measures and implement them where appropriate.


  • Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily logs, change orders, RFIs, and other relevant records.
  • Ensure that all project documentation is properly filed and accessible for future reference.


Qualifications:

  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Site Superintendent, with a focus on mid-rise multi-family construction.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing projects of a minimum of 4 stories from start to finish.
  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications.


  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in project management software.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work on-site in various weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds
