Job Description

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, theAccounting Clerk will be responsible for the general accountingand financial reporting close requirements of the Toronto productions. Theywill be focused day-to-day on the development bookkeeping and reportingrequirements.

Morespecifically, the Accounting Clerk will:

  • Record and process all invoicesreceived on a weekly basis ensuring fringes are properly recorded
  • Execute the weekly payment runfor all in scope expenses by coordinating all GL and bank postings
  • Prepare all broadcaster and funderinvoices across all Toronto development and production projects
  • Maintain and complete all monthlyand annual filings for union dues
  • File monthly HST returns
  • Prepare monthly cost reports for developmentprojects
  • Prepare monthly intercoreconciliations
  • Prepare adjusting entries forquarterly financial reporting to our parent company
  • Assist in the preparation ofinternal subsidiary financial statements and T2s
  • Support the annual auditengagement with external accountants
Requirements

Preferred candidate profile:

  • Experience in accounting and finance required
  • Certificate or diploma in accounting or finance desired
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced,creative and growing environment
  • Proven capability to multi-task and successfully self-manage multiplepriorities and projects under tight timelines
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Prior experience in the entertainmentor television production industry is an asset
