As a Pharmacist with our esteemed client, you will play a pivotal role in compounding and dispensing prescribed pharmaceuticals while delivering exceptional consultative services to both clients and healthcare providers. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, contributing significantly to the well-being of our clientele.


Key Responsibilities:


Your responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of duties including but not limited to:


  • Thoroughly review prescriptions to ensure accurate dosage and appropriateness for the patient.
  • Skillfully compound prescribed pharmaceutical products by meticulously calculating, measuring, and blending the required quantities of drugs and other components, ensuring precise filling of appropriate containers.
  • Dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals to customers or healthcare professionals, offering informed guidance on indications, contra-indications, adverse effects, drug interactions, and proper dosage regimens.
  • Maintain comprehensive medication profiles for customers, including diligent management of poisons, narcotics, and controlled substances registries.
  • Ensure meticulous preparation, packaging, distribution, and storage of vaccines, serums, biologicals, and other pharmaceuticals, adhering strictly to regulatory standards.
  • Proactively manage inventory levels of pharmaceutical supplies through timely ordering and efficient stock maintenance.
  • Provide expert advice to customers on the selection and usage of non-prescription medications, promoting optimal health outcomes.
  • Renew existing prescriptions in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
  • Exercise professional judgment to adapt medication formulations, regimens, durations, or routes of administration as appropriate.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of pharmacy assistants, pharmacy technicians, and other staff members, as needed.
  • Develop informative materials elucidating the uses, properties, and associated risks of specific drugs to enhance patient understanding.
  • Evaluate the labeling, packaging, and advertising of drug products to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and promote consumer safety.
  • Engage in targeted promotional activities to healthcare professionals, effectively advocating for pharmaceutical products.


Qualifications:

  • Certification by the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) and a proven track record of maintaining good standing.
