Summary

  1. Carry out the administration and global maintenance of IBMi servers, telecommunications and security;
  2. Monitor, analyse and produce periodic reports on the performance of environments.
  3. Perform infrastructure migrations, OS and software upgrades;
  4. Install and configure IBM licensed software (Query, Fax, DB2, SQL, BRMS, PSF, Client Access or ACS, Performance Tools, PowerHA and others);
  5. Manage third party software (such as Gumbo, Help System, SpoolIT, Arctools, Cilasoft/Assure Security, QuickEDD and others);
  6. Integrate and optimise business processes;
  7. Implement and support high availability (HA) solutions;
  8. Manage replication, backups and restores;
  9. Develop tools to support operations (RPG, RPGLE and CLP);
  10. Provide first and second level technical support;
  11. Write all documentation, proposals, reports, analyses, technical specifications, estimates, or other documents related to the needs of the position - as well as obtain approval when required;
  12. Share expertise with the company on strategic projects;
  13. Perform any other related tasks required by the Employer;
REQUIRED PROFILE
  1. A minimum of 5 years experience in systems administration;
  2. A DEC, AEC or BAC in network management or equivalent;
  3. Excellent knowledge of IBM I and Power environments;
  4. Ability to work in both French and English (spoken and written). The job requires proficiency in English at a professional level. The candidate will interact on a weekly basis either with R2i (2) offices in Ontario or with various English-speaking customers or business partners;
